It would be nice to be able to see how multiple domains are doing for the same keyword. Like me I may be tracking my name on multiple sites to see which social network may be working better for pulling results for my name, therefore I'd like to see a master keyword instead of a master domain and see the domains (in my account) and how they've ranked for that keyword

Sorting your keywords by your ranking or by the search volume doesn't really tell you much. What you really want to see is how you're doing on keywords where you have a chance of competing, and to do that, you have to take into account how hotly contested the keyword is... KEI is a metric that takes those factors into account.

We're looking at starting some accounts on it within the next few weeks and having all customers moved to it within a couple months.

Authority Labs is incredible. Every feature is fantastic, except for one...accuracy. I can't trust my dashboard data because every other day the system is down. We've just switched our personal sites from a very powerful dedicated server at 100tb.com to a cloud server at VPS.net. The cloud server is cheaper, faster, more redundant, and never goes down. You might consider looking at cloud hosting to stop these rank tracking errors in the future. I'm sure you're losing significant revenue in lost customers because you simply can't trust the data. Stop adding new features and start focusing on making the core product work. Owning your own servers, and even having a dedicated server with a serious data center is for amateurs these days. You need multiple dedicated servers in a cloud setup to balance all the load you're getting. Whatever you're using for hosting right now just isn't cutting it....

We currently have 2000+ cloud instances and several of Amazon's highest CPU and highest memory EC2 instances. Our database increases at a size of several gigabytes a day and is spread over several servers. Very few hosting companies have the capacity to handle our needs. We lost some processing servers earlier this week as a result of some issues at Amazon, which has resulted in a delay in processing the past few days. We're currently working to catch up on that but it does take a while to run through tens of millions of pages of results. We're not happy with what has happened this week and we will be working to avoid the issue in the future. We're also working to roll an entirely new backend out very soon, which will alleviate most, if not all of the processing issues we sometimes run into.

I like the fact that you have the bing/google (but yahoo isn't really relevant anymore). I would rather the keyword grid showed: keyword - current rank - day change - week change - month change If you had that and the ability to switch between google/bing - it would probably be more helpful.

A keyword's value can be calculated in volume of expected traffic x CPC. If the CPC is really low sometimes it makes more sense to just CPC instead of focus on SEO. I would think adding CPC would make the rank tracking more useful.

Add Google search volume for each keyword and then make the reports sortable by volume. This way you can get a better snapshot of expected traffic and impact of ranking for a term.

1 day and 7 days are too far apart and this makes it difficult to see, for example, what has happened to rankings over the weekend.

In many countries only Google rules the market. So it's pointless to track results in Bing and Yahoo. My recommendation is to add an option to disable Bing and Yahoo - at least for the public link that we send to our clients.

It would be very useful to be able to tag a keyword (or group of keywords) with date-specific notes so that after some time passes, you can easily pick out the resulting gain/loss in the SEO rankings & graph. For example: If I'm tracking the keywords "chocolate cupcakes", I could tag this keyword with a note like "Linked phrase 'chocolate cupcakes' in Facebook note to awesomecupcakes.com (12/25/2009)". Then your (very cool) system could annotate the graph for this keyword phrase and I could easily see after a few weeks whether my changes had any positive effects. WHO'S WITH ME!!!!?

Our system does not leverage the Google search API or API keys as the data in that system is not accurate. It also responds extremely slow. Currently, results that are being rolled out in our system are less than 24 hours old.

We agree that same day reports would be nice. Unfortunately, with the amount of data that has to be collected and processed, it's just not feasible at this point. Typically there is only a 1 day lag at most from when we collect data to when it is rolled out. For example, we may gather SERP data on a Tuesday evening. That data is processed and rolled out live on Wednesday afternoon at the latest. Then, we would collect Wednesday's data during that evening and it would be rolled live Thursday afternoon at the latest.
